Dear Esther is a first-person experience set on a remote island in the outer Hebrides, where a voice reads fragments of a letter addressed to Esther as you walk. It sets aside traditional gameplay for exploration, environments and music, with a story that deals with love, loss, guilt and redemption. The Chinese Room made this indie remake of an earlier mod for PC, and it suits players who like short, contemplative, single-player narrative games.
