Doom: The Dark Ages
A medieval prequel to the 2016 Doom with heavier, shield-focused combat for the Doom Slayer.
In this single-player shooter, you wield a Shield Saw that blocks and parries while you cut through demons in the grim medieval land of Argent D'Nur. Combat is more grounded and deliberate than the acrobatic style of earlier entries, with fresh melee weapons and vehicles to drive, including a dragon with cybernetic parts and an enormous mech. Longer cutscenes tell how the hero began. id Software made it, and it suits shooter fans who enjoy tactical aggression.
