Left 4 Dead 2 is a cooperative zombie shooter where four Survivors fight through campaigns filled with large infected hordes and dangerous Special Infected. Valve's AI Director changes enemy placement, pacing, items and other elements according to how the team is performing, helping repeated runs remain unpredictable even when the route is familiar.
Campaign co-op supports up to four players, while competitive Versus modes can involve up to eight participants as teams alternate between Survivors and Special Infected. Survival and other modes add further replayability for established groups. The game remains available on PC and is playable on compatible Xbox hardware, but there is no crossplay between the PC and Xbox versions.
