Project Zomboid is a hardcore zombie survival sandbox from The Indie Stone built around a simple premise: this is how you died. Players create survivors, scavenge an enormous map, secure buildings, manage hunger, thirst, injuries, illness, fatigue, and mood, learn practical skills, maintain vehicles, farm, cook, craft, and build fortified safehouses while enormous zombie populations continue to react to sound, movement, and the changing world.
It is designed for players who enjoy deep simulation, slow progression, and survival where preparation matters more than heroic combat. Solo play can become a long personal story, while persistent online servers support large communities and local split-screen allows smaller groups to survive together on one PC. Extensive sandbox settings and mods make the experience highly customizable.
